Eduard Khil “Mr. Trololo” dies in St. Petersburg After Suffering A Stroke
Eduard Khil, better know as “Mr. Trololo” died June 4th 2012 in St. Petersburg after getting a stroke. Mr. Khil has been in a coma since late May. Mr. Khil is best know for his wordless song wordless “I Am So Happy to Finally Be Back Home born” which has been a youtube sensation with over 12 million plays.
Eduard Khil was born in Smolensk in 1934. He began his music career in 1960 at the Leningrad Conservatory. “Mr. Trololo” started performing in 1962 and soon became a Russian music sensation. International fans of the song nicknamed Eduard Khil the “Trololo Man”, asking the singer to give live shows in their countries. The singer was awarded several Soviet and Russian orders, including the Order of the Red Banner of Labor, Order of Peoples’ Friendship and Order of Merit for the Motherland.
In May 2012, Khil suffered a stroke and was hospitalized. He had suffered from irreversible brain damage and was in a coma. He died in hospital in St. Petersburg on June 4, 2012.
